Come join us as we gather as a jurisdiction, to be with Christ and one another! The Holy Eucharist will be offered each day, including the annual Chrism Mass (with renewal of vows of baptism, religious profession, and ordination – and the option of renewal of marriage vows for those who wish) – which this year will be a celebration of our Mission Episcopate’s Patronal Feast of Michaelmas, along with the Offices of Morning and Evening Prayer and Compline. Opportunities for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick will be provided. The theme of the Gathering will be explored in the sessions as we discern how God is calling us in ministry to live out our vows for the coming year. We will gather for the Annual Meeting of the Jurisdiction. Ample time for fellowship, solitude, and rest will be available.

Lent Online Educational Series on the Tridentine Mass
A ministry of the Oratory of St. Faustina (Subdeacon Dave Wood)
March 1 at 7:30 PM (ET) - The Structure of the Mass
March 15 at 7:30 PM (ET) - Symbolism
March 22 7:30 PM (ET) - Spirituality
This Lent the Oratory of St. Faustina (subdeacon Dave Wood) will be offering a three part series on traditional liturgy. The Independent Catholic Christian Church is devoted to liturgical diversity and thus commonly uses several different rites on a regular basis drawn from both the Roman and Anglican traditions. In this series we will be focusing on the Tridentine use of the mass that was used in the Roman Church prior to the second Vatican Council. We will first look at the structure of this form of Mass, then some of the rich symbolism found within the mass, and finally looking at the spirituality that this form of the mass evokes and how our individual spirituality are shaped by our liturgical expressions. Each session is expected to last one hour and will be broadcast online. No special equipment is required simply a computer with internet access and a phone. What better way to prepare ourselves for the Easter mysteries than to delve more deeply into our long liturgical traditions. If you would like to attend, but have not had a chance to sign up, please send us a message and Dave will be in touch.

Christian Formation and Confirmation Class
Sundays from January 21 to June 24

Epiphany and House Blessings
Sunday, January 7
4:00 PM Mass
This Sunday we'll be celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany, the shining forth of God in the world. As part of our celebration we'll be blessing chalk for people to take home to use for the traditional house blessings. Don't forget to pick up the handout for house blessings and instructions, which will be at the back of the church. These are prayers that all may use to recognize the blessing of God in their homes.
"Why bless our homes? Because they, too, are sacred spaces of prayer and worship as we go about the everyday tasks of our lives. Saying prayers and blessings for our homes invite us to recognize the privilege of having a home, of having a space to gather and to live within day in and day out. Prayers and blessings for our homes remind us that even the most mundane tasks like washing dishes are works of God (read Brother Lawrence for more on this). Our homes are places of welcome for guests, of celebration for life events, and hopefully of safety when we need to grieve and weep. Our homes are holy spaces." - from the Rev. Laurie Brock

This Advent we invite you to reflect in prayer, serve others, and deepen your experience of the holiday season.
Prayer
Sundays during Advent through Christmas - 5:00 p.m. directly after Mass. Take some time to pause, pray, and reflect on the themes and stories of the season leading up to Christmas. We will begin with quiet time to reflect on a section of Scripture then end with praying one of Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary. All materials will be provided. We encourage you bring a rosary if you would find it helpful
Advent Jesse Tree. Don't forget to pick up your copy of readings, and suggestions for ornaments, leading up to Christmas. The Jesse tree helps us connect the custom of decorating Christmas trees to the events leading to Jesus’ birth. The Jesse tree is named from Isaiah 11:1: “A shoot shall come out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots.” We adorn a Jesse tree with hand-made ornaments (drawings, crafts, etc.) that represent the people, prophesies, and events leading up to the birth of Jesus. The ornaments of the Jesse tree tell the story of God in the Old Testament, connecting the Advent season with the faithfulness of God across four thousand years of history. The readings can also be used by themselves to meditate on the themes leading up to Christmas.

Aid for Puerto Rico
Sunday, October 1
Today the parish decided to make a donation to support hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico. Thank you to Kristi and Hector, who are gathering information about which organization(s) we can support. More information to come... In the meantime, we wanted to share this prayer for those who may be separated from their loved ones at this time:
O God, whose fatherly care reacheth to the uttermost parts of the earth: We humbly beseech thee graciously to behold and bless those whom we love, now absent from us. Defend them from all dangers of soul and body; and grant that both they and we, drawing nearer to thee, may be bound together by thy love in the communion of thy Holy Spirit, and in the fellowship of thy saints; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
