BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
Sunday, October 6
4:00 – 5:00 PM
At our 4:00 pm Sunday Mass on October 6, we'll be commemorating the Feast of St. Francis with a Blessing and Memorial of the Animals. Since space is small and animals are not allowed in the chapel, we invite everyone to bring a photo, collar, pet toy, food dish etc. of your pet to be blessed after Mass. We'll also be remembering deceased pets, so we invite people to bring pictures or any other meaningful items to be blessed. We would like to open this up to those who are not able to attend as well -- if you would like a pet, living or deceased, included in the St. Francis Day blessing, please feel free to let Bp. Tim or Mtr. Lyngine know their names.
We’ll also be doing blessing of the animals/prayers for pets at a nearby park on either Oct. 5 or 6. Stay tuned for details.

Donations for the Media Food Bank
Sundays this summer
Before 4:00 PM Sunday Mass
The Media Food Bank is running low on supplies so we are reaching out. They usually run low in summer but this is earlier than usual. If you are able to donate any non-perishable goods, please bring them to church on Sundays throughout the summer. There is a box at the entrance of the church where we can drop off donations. They especially need toilet paper and other hygiene items so if you are able to bring those, they would be very appreciated.

Feast of the Presentation/Candlemas
February 3, 2019
Today at Mass (4 p.m.) we will celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. When Mary and Joseph brought Christ to the temple on the 40th day after his birth, Simeon embraced the Child and prayed: "Now thou dost dismiss thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word in peace; because my eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples: a light to the revelation of the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel" (Luke 2:29-32). So the custom had developed in the West of blessing candles on the Feast of the Presentation. Because of this, the feast also became known as Candlemas!
If you have any candles from home that you would like blessed, bring them to Mass today and we will include them when we bless the candles for the parish.
